Haha thanks for the read! I wrote it long form inititally but then I thought a photo essay with some comments would do a better job from a reader's point of view
Thanks for the reads and the recos! A trip to the Statue of Unity is on my cards.
Unfortunately for me, I could not do much in Karkala because I was alreadty a little behind schedule and I didn't want to miss that elusive bus to Sringeri.
Definitely wish I could spend more time at Udupi-Manipal in the evening
Great post! The photos were of course lovely but I really enjoyed the introspective writing, felt like a peek into your diary/journal, and by extension, into your mind & outlook as a traveler. Admire the spontaneous nature of the trip, and many of the anecdotes really puts into perspective our life now and how we have changed. Glad to see you can still just go off and do a solo trip and make such wonderful memories!
Nostalgic! Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for the read! I'm sure you would relate to it
Amazing experience, from your blog - I felt as if I also went through this. Now I feel like going myself.

Love this
Karkala has Anekere and its jain basadi, ranganath cafe and breakfast joints ...
Ideal ice cream parlour is run by pabbas...
So much nostalgia in talking about udupi and mitra samaj..
Agree to your point of solo trips. Had myself done one to Ahmedabad and statue of unity

As always, appreciate your encouragement for my writing and posts :)
The intention was definitely to free my mind from checklists or conveniences and just go with the flow, to whatever extent.
You should also go for some random unplanned trip to some unknown place in the mid-west (with the missus' permission :P)
